I am an energy and environmental economist working on the role of energy in the economy and the drivers and mitigation of climate change and a professor at the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. I am associated with the Centre for Climate Economics and Policy and the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis. During 2020-21, I am the holder of a Francqui Chair at Hasselt University in Belgium.
